Ch. 5: Marital Obligations

Her newlyweded husband was coming home, making Jiang Mo very nervous. A lone man and a woman sharing the same room, and what’s more, they are husband and wife. The way things were going was totally on track for something to happen. She was somewhat absentminded even while working.

However, this trepidation did not last long. After the meeting, the whole company received internal news about the company’s personnel scheduling. In the dense text, Jiang Mo became a manager, which was very common and unobtrusive.

After three years of hard work, she finally stepped into the threshold of being a manager. Jiang Mo was naturally thrilled. Looking for outstanding and promising artists became her most important job now.

She walked around the trainee training camp, the teachers’ classrooms, and even browsed through all of the company’s current third-line small artists. As a result, dusk fell before she left the company with an exhausted body.

Standing in front of the door, Jiang Mo pulled out the key from the bag and suddenly thought of a very serious question. It seemed that her newlyweded husband said he was going home at night.

She raised her wrist and looked at the time. 6:45, shouldn’t this be considered “night”?

The big boss is so busy. How can he get off of work on time? Maybe it’s not necessary to have a lavish meal. I don’t know if there’s anything in the refrigerator or if the big boss would mind eating a vegetable salad.

Jiang Mo’s thoughts flew wildly in her mind. However, her chaotic mind suddenly calmed down the moment when she opened the door. Inside the kitchen, the aroma of meat came through– someone should be cooking soup.

Then Mo Jingtian, wearing a red and white plaid apron, walked out of the kitchen carrying a plate of shrimp in his hand. He looked up at Jiang Mo, who was standing at the door, and warmly said , “Wash your hands and come eat.”

“Oh? Oh.” Jiang Mo dumbfoundedly put down her bag, changed her shoes, and subconsciously did as she was told. Everything in front of her was a bit unreal.

The dignified president went so far as to cook a meal!

Braised prawns, seaweed ribs soup, stir-fried broccoli, spicy tofu, and shredded ginger with meat. There are not many home-cooked dishes, just enough for two.

The dining table is extremely quiet. For the first time in years, Jiang Mo came home from work and had a meal. There was a long lost liveliness in her cold and quiet life.

She was very satisfied with the food. She put down her chopsticks and looked at the handsome man sitting opposite. At this moment, she realized that she had a family and wasn’t alone anymore.

“Are you urging me to eat quickly, and then take a shower and rest?” There was a smile in the sound of the low and rich voice. It’s as if the imposing and unfeeling company president was a different person.

“Ah?” Jiang Mo was a little dazed.

“You’re staring at me like this because you blame me for leaving you by yourself for a month because I went on a business trip immediately after getting married? Now you are encouraging me to fulfill my marital obligations sooner?” Mo Jingtian put down his chopsticks and smiled with a smile on his lips, asking seriously.

Jiang Mo instantly recovered, reddish little face, waved their hands, “No, no, no, not really.”

Mo Jingtian no longer teased her, “I had to deal with something personally before, so I had to leave.”

Is this an explanation?

Jiang Mo was a bit flabbergasted. Unexpectedly, the big boss was explaining the issue of his journey to her! Wait a minute. She looked up to meet his deep, black eyes, “Are you the president of Sky Entertainment?”

Mo Jingtian was helpless, “Didn’t you understand this morning?”

Yesterday, she was part of the working class, but today, she has become Madam President. Such a rapid transformation has disrupted all her plans.

“Can we hide the news of our marriage from the outside world?” Jiang Mo’s voice weakened.

Mo Jingtian frowned, “Why?”

“I’m a company employee now. If everyone knows that we are husband and wife, how can I still work?” Jiang Mo explained in a low voice.

“You don’t have to work so hard.” Mo Jingtian was serious.

“That won’t work. I’m going to be an ace manager!” Jiang Mo immediately objected. Her attitude was very firm and even her voice was a little louder.

Mo Jingtian frowned and asked, “Just because of this?”
