When Qiao Yu woke up, she found herself lying on a hospital bed. She seemed to be the only person in the ward and the smell of sterilized water filled the air. It made her want to throw up.
She sat her body upright and watched Gu Feihan open the door and come in. Stunned for a moment, she mustered a reluctant smile, “What’s wrong with me?”
Gu Feihan closed the door softly, “Do you know that you’re more than a month pregnant?”
Qiao Yu, stunned again, her eyes widened and her lips twitched twice, but no sound came out. After a moment of calculation, she realized that she had drunk heavily.
She rubbed her belly and hesitantly said, “Then…what are you going to do? This child…”
She wanted to say that if she had known a day earlier, she would not have signed the divorce agreement. She wanted to see the child born safely.
Gu Feihan stared at her coldy and turned away in silence. She wanted to call out to him, but didn’t know what to say.
She was hospitalized and observed for two more days and unexpectedly learned that her attending doctor had been a neighboring friend who grew up with her. She had a good relationship with him when they were children, but when she moved with her parents, their contact to one another gradually decreased.
“Relax, the child is very healthy,” Lu Qingyu checked her body and sat down by the bed with a smile, “Was the man who sent you to the hospital earlier your husband?”
“He is…my ex-husband,” Qiao Yu smiled bitterly, “I found out that I was pregnant after we divorced. It’s so nonsensical. This joke is too much.”
“Then, this child…,” Lu Qingyu said shocked.
“I want to give birth to him,” Qiao Yu responded, lowering her eyes.
For three days in a row, Gu Feihan had avoided her and disappeared–he didn’t return any of her phone calls or text messages. In addition to his attitude, Qiao Yu had to bear the debt she owed by her father in her name.
She owes the loan sharks nearly 10 million, and with her current state, she simply cannot afford it. She was unwilling to ask Gu Feihan for money. She had called her good friends, but none of them were willing to help after learning that her family had gone bankrupt.
In order to prevent the debt collectors from scaring her brother, Qiao Yu temporarily sent him to a relative’s house in the country for a few days. When she got out of the hospital, she remembered that she had left something at Gu Feihan’s.
When she got there, it was already late. It was the mid-Autumn festival. The servants in the villa were on holiday and the whole villa was dark. The lights in the second floor bedroom were still on and Qiao Yu assumed that he would be home.
She opened the door with a key that she hadn’t returned and ran to the second floor. She was immediately shocked at the sight she saw.
Gu Feihan sat on the carpet, drunk, with seven or eight empty alcohol bottles scattered around. Qiao Yu squatted beside him to grab the half-empty bottle in his hand. He grabbed her, “Don’t go.”
His tone was affectionate, yet persistent but Qiao Yu only felt bitterness in her mouth.
He must have thought that she was Luo Xuan, right?
“It’s me Qiao Yu, not your little girlfriend Luo Xuan.”
She raised her hand and refused, before she finished speaking, he suddenly kissed her.
Qiao Yu’s eyes widened instantly.
[T/N]: My jaw literally dropped at the pregnancy reveal. Also, why was Gu Feihan drinking? So many questions that need to be answered.

It seems that Qiao Yu’s father should be damned to hell for his role in this mayhem. But this husband is so beyond cruel . And he has the nerve to harbor feelings towards Qiao Yu.
